This website works best with Firefox 3. Internet Explorer works, but requires extra clicks on the map interface.

If you can't see the map, you may need a plug-in to run Java Applets, download and install the Java Runtime Environment plugin here: Java!

The first loading of the map may take 20 seconds or so. Subsequent maps generally pop up in only a few seconds.

Please deactivate any pop-up blocker, or set it to allow pop up windows from this website. Otherwise you will miss results from map queries and the formatted printer friendly page.

This website is a work in progress. Many more map layers, tools and features will be added over time.

New to the site?

Click on Highlights on the Menu Bar above. Use the links found there to view several maps with pre-selected layers that highlight the drilling, geophysics, and geochem of the Cariboo Gold Project.

Try out the map layers in the Layers tab on the Menu Bar above!

There are over 100 layers available including:

Soil Geochem by Percentile - symbolized by your choice of 32 different elements. You can correlate how different elements relate to gold showings with over 10,000 soil samples along 10km of the property.

View the soil geochem with one of many geophysics rasters, quartz veins, underground mine levels or just zoom in close on the creeks to see what a placer gold rush does to the landscape.

-- Query a point on the map in the BC Minfile or Assessment Report layers! You will receive a pop up summary of the records and links that lead Directly to the BC Minfile and ARIS reports websites. You are 3 clicks away from reading one of a few hundred PDF assessment reports of exploration work in the Cariboo, and knowing exactly where on the ground that work was performed!

-- Query a drill hole location and receive a dynamically generated table of the gold assays from that hole, and links to cross section diagrams.

Query those maps with the tool! There's plenty of information buried in the pictures.

Map Controls
Use the controls on the display to navigate the map:

zoom in -   zoom out -
  re-center -   query -

More information can be displayed for many map features by using the query tool on a map feature. When querying the map, a window will pop up showing the results of the map query.

Users of smaller monitors can switch to a smaller more convenient map display using the buttons located below the map. You may also try maximizing the viewable area of the browser window by using the 'F11' key.

Menu Bar Controls
Layer Controls
Layers are grouped into several folders. Click a folder - to show the layers contained within.

Individual layers may be turned On or Off by clicking the (on) or (off) symbols next to the layer name.

All the layers within a folder may be turned On or Off at once by clicking the (on) or (off) symbols next to the folder name.

Legend
To view a legend of all visible map layers choose Legend Display. If no classes are shown under a layer title, then either the layer is turned off or the scale of the map is out of the range of visibility for that layer.

Problems / Help
Known problems, or issues with the Map Display are listed here. Problems encountered can be reported to the email address listed.

Highlights
Choose from a selection of pre-prepared views of the Map Display showing various areas of interest within the Cariboo Gold Project.
